1. 程序员写出了自以为没有错误的程序产品。
2. 程序经测试后发现了20个错误。
3. 程序员改正了其中的10个错误，然后向测试小组解释其它的10个并不是真正的错误。
4. 测试小组发现其中5处修改根本不能工作并且又发现了15个错误。
5. 过程3和4又重复了三遍。
6. 由于市场压力以及压缩得不能再压缩的开发日程表，产品终于发布了。
7. 用户发现了137个新错误。
8. 原来的程序员在兑现了他的版税支票后就再也找不到了。
9. 新组建的开发团队基本上改正了原来的137个错误，但又引入了456个新错误。
10. 原来的程序员从斐济给还没领到薪水的测试小组成员寄了一张明信片。测试小组全体成员都愤而离职。
11. 公司被竞争对手恶意收购，对方收购的资金源于其发布的上一版本产品的利润，该产品有783个错误。
12. 董事会引进了新的CEO。新的CEO雇了一个程序员从头开始设计这个产品。
13. 程序员写出了自已认为已没有错误的程序产品。

    * Programmer produces code he believes is bug-free.
    * Product is tested. 20 bugs are found.
    * Programmer fixes 10 of the bugs and explains to the testing department that the other 10 aren’t really bugs.
    * Testing department finds that five of the fixes didn’t work and discovers 15 new bugs.
