安装与设置
安装的过程十分的简单，一路NEXT就可安装成功。不过值得注意的是Avast!与诺顿不兼容。如果你的系统装了诺顿或卸载不完全，安装前会出警告对话框。如果你忽略，安装后会因为诺顿的关系，导致一些安全防护(如p2p防护)不能开启。安装时有三种选择，建议用典型方式安装。安装完成之后和其它杀毒软件一样，Avast!会询问你是否全局扫描一次。
最后，在屏幕右下角出现两个蓝色的小球。这就是Avast!的两个运行任务图标，分别叫:病毒修复数据库备份和实时监控。病毒修复数据库备份运作方式有点像google
desktop
search，它会在你系统空闲的时候对你的本地文件进行整理与备份，以防当你的系统万一被病毒感染而文件受损时进行修复。
这是一个十分保险周全的功能，如果你需要的安全程度没这么高，你可以停止它:在带有字母“i”的图标上点击右键，选择:“禁止产生VRDB
”，并再选择“合并”就是它下面的那个，让这个图标与实时监控的图标合并，这样就不会占用你的任务栏。
查杀病毒
如图六中的注释，选择你需要扫描的文件夹，或者选择全局扫描，并对扫描的标准进行设置:快速，标准，彻底三种。另外还可以勾选扫描日志文件。Avast!的扫描速度很快，查找病毒的能力也十分的强。
在病毒包的测试中，Avast!全部把笔者的病毒测试包全给揪了出来，果然是VB100%奖的多次得主，实力非凡呀。发现病毒后，Avast!会有几种选择给你:清除病毒、删除文件或者移到隔离区。值得推荐的是，发现病毒Avast!还有语音提示，十分的人性化。
软件与病毒库更新，系统资源占用情况
Avast!的更新相当的迅速，有时甚至只要一两秒，在你的无意中就更新完了。有时它只需要下载一两个小文件即可。具体的更新方式设置可以在程序的设置中进行修改，前面也提到过。
当Avast!全部七大防护服务开启时，有五个进程，可是五个进程占用的内存量还不够20M，资源占用相当地低!（我自己关了一个，发现只有３个，开心！）
